About us

Soulshine Maine coon cattery is located in a small village called Lier, right outside of Oslo, the capital in Norway.
We live in a villa, and the cats live together with us as family members.
In summertime the cats also go outside. They have a small house and an outdoor catrun where they can run, climb, watch our neighbors and other animals outside.

I am Sandra, and I am 32 years old. I live together with my husband Peter, and our son who is 4 years old. Lucas is very close to the cats, and all our cats are well socialized.
I am as of now staying at home mom, and my hobbies - next to the cats- is weaving and photographing.
I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. My dad always laughed of me, and said that he knew that if I would ever have the possibility, I would have saved all the animals on my way.
Growing up my pets was mostly cage-pets as hamsters, mouses, rabbits, birds and guinea pigs, and at the age of 15 I started working in a pet store. I loved this job, and worked there until I turned 20 and had to focus all my time on studies.

As a grown up I have had more than one cat in my home. I have worked together with organizations for rescue-cats, and have had several rescue-cats in foster care.

Both me and my hubby have always had an extra eye for the Maine Coon breed. When we decided it was time for a new family member again, there was no questions for us- it had to be a Maine Coon cat.
We bought two lovely brothers, and enjoyed the life with them so much. After a short while we knew this was what we wanted, to start our very own small cattery.

With great help from my mentor, we got our own cattery-name 27.02.2019. NO*Soulshine is a registered member of Fife and NRR.

What we want out of our cattery is to breed healthy and well tempered cats, who will become long living family members for their humans. We are DNA testing all of our cats with MyCatDNA, who will give us the result for more than 40 genetic diseases, and help us to do better matches with the cats.
